Conceived as an imaginary organ for the plastic-fed species Plasticus, this work takes the form of a cyst.

 

Suspended between pathology and adaptation, it becomes an interface: an illness transformed into an organ, a repository for the synthetic memories contained within ingested plastic.

 

The work draws on an enigmatic organ depicted in an illustration from Gui de Chauliac’s Chirurgia magna (14th century).
