Plasticus humanimalia, 2021–2023

Molded resin with plastic inclusions, plastic waste, electronic circuitry, iPhone 3, placed on a lightbox, 110 × 40 × 40 cm (Sculpture), 90 × 140 × 55 cm (Lightbox)

This sculpture depicts the skeleton of a being belonging to the fictional species Plasticus humanimalia.

Deformed by the repeated ingestion of plastic particles, its body has grown so heavy that it has lost its limbs and its verticality.

Through the transparency of the resin, the remnants of our era emerge: fragments of packaging, credit cards, and an iPhone in place of the brain.

Each bone was shaped through silicone and resin casting, like the fossilized trace of a humanity that has become synthetic.
